Answers to frequently asked questions are accessible to both LISEIA members and non-members through the FAQ subpages by topic. Move the cursor to the FAQ's page selector at left, then select the subpage for the specific FAQ that interests you.

FAQ's will be added and revised with submissions, recommendations and advice from professionals in the solar energy and wind industry, including LISEIA members, friends of the organization, renewable energy related organizations including RELI and the dedicated renewable energy staff from the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).

The content of the these FAQ's is intended for a broad spectrum of readers including contractors, renewable energy industry professionals, builders, homeowners, business owners and municipalities seeking to acquire a solar or wind powered renewable energy system.

While LISEIA attempts to keep the information as up to date as possible, the renewable energy industry is in a constant state of change and rapid growth.

Please use this site as a resource but always check on current practices, rules and regulations when starting a project as there may be changes that do not yet appear on these pages.

LISEIA cannot guarantee that the FAQ's are 100% up to date or that alternate recommendations, regulations, opinions and practices may not exist which should be adhered to. Accordingly you must always consult with a tax professional, utility representative, contractor, electrician, electrical inspector, town building or permitting department, etc. to confirm that you have the up to date and accurate information needed for a given aspect of your renewable energy project.
