ORGANIZATION

MISSION

The mission of LISEIA is to promote a healthy, ethical and vibrant solar industry on Long Island, which includes influencing and sponsoring wise policy for local industries and organizations, and local, state and Federal governments.

2011 FOCUS ITEMS / PILLARS

PILLAR #1 - Support local political initiatives supporting solar
i. Local: Suffolk/Nassau
ii. Standardization of permitting requirements
iii. Support local preference laws
iv. Support empowerment zones on Long Island
v. Property tax abatement in LIPA territory

PILLAR #2 - Pursue the transition to a performance based system
i. Endorse a stable market
ii. FIT / SREC programs

PILLAR #3 - LISEIA Marketing & Increase Brand Equity
i. Establish a vision statement and 5 year plan
ii. Reevaluate LISEIA as a task force of NYSEIA
iii. Quantifying the benefits of the solar industry on Long Island
iv. Speaking with one voice; strengthening our internal

PILLAR #4 - Establish clear positions regarding solar Industry regulation, protection & governance mechanisms, including License
i. Review of various levels of control for a rapidly growing industry
ii. Qualified list of members (put in hands of LIPA)
iii. Create a LISEIA 'certified' list of contractors?
iv. LIPA or 3rd party inspection of solar installation

• Public Education // Rally public support through outreach and education
