HISTORY OF LISEIA

Our more experienced members remember what solarizing long island was like during the artificial oil crises of the 1970's. Since then, as individuals, many have fought for a more stable and solar friendly business environment. For example, the NYS tax credit increase to $5,000 is the result of the pre-LISEIA efforts led by our elected Chairman, Kevin Mac Leod.

The idea of a local association was given impetus in 2007 when a number of local solar contractors met at a conference at Farmingdale University and decided that together they could make more effective progress.

And so, LISEIA was born to help create a stable environment for the Long Island solar energy industry.
